    Great initial results!

    Worked out today with a personal trainer with very good results (1st real test).

    We did a circuit with the following:

    - inverted rows using TRX (feet elevated 24″)
    - chin ups
    - pushups
    - dumbell press (40 lbs.)

    We each did a total of 8 sets to exhaustion. He is 34, I am 49 yrs. old.

    My first set was 20 inverted row, 11 pull ups, 21 pushups, 11 dumbell press
    2nd – 17, 8, 20, 9
    3rd – 13, 6, 15, 7
    Core control for approx. 4 mins
    4th – 18, 8, 20, 8
    5th – 16, 6, 18, 7
    Core control for approx. 4 mins
    6th – 17, 7, 20, 7
    7th – 16, 6, 18, 6
    Core control for approx. 4 mins
    8th – 17, 6, 20, 6

    The personal trainer had similar type results. Although we could certainly feel the “pump” in our muscles, we never broke a sweat which is ridiculous given that normally I would be dripping doing that kind of work. Also, under normal circumstances I would never come close to accomplishing that much work, perhaps 3-4 sets with a huge drop off in performance, not 8 rounds with very little drop off in performance.

    We both used the glove to cool down after the workout for approx. 10 minutes and will see how we feel tomorrow with regards to stiffness/soreness.

    We are planning to do the same workout on Sunday to compare.

    Overall, very impressive and encouraging results. Can’t wait to do further testing!

    I am a 47 year old Ironman triathlete and I train between 20-30 hours per week so maximizing each session and recovery for me is key. I work in the medical device industry and I learned about this product while it was being developed at Stanford. I was immediately interested as I am a big advocate for post-race / post-training cooling and I have used ice baths for years to aid in recovery. This is the first product that I am aware of that used active cooling and it could be applied DURING a training session.

    I got the “CoreControl” last week and I am very impressed.

    I used it during an indoor interval cycling session. After my 3rd interval, I used the cooling system on each recovery interval. The result was pretty interesting. My power went up on all 6 intervals. My starting heart rate was significantly lower after the cooling than during the non-cooling intervals. I was never sweaty and I only drank ¾ of 1 bottle versus my typical 2 bottles on the trainer.

    It is easily portable and battery powered so I could definitely see a use for this during track sessions.

    I also used the system for recovery after the final intervals.

    I will have to wait and see, but I think that if I can tolerate a higher work load and recover quicker, my training response has to improve.

    I used Core Control for the first time after walking down then up 13 flights of stairs. I felt calm after using it then did my 60 lunges, 140 abs (using a machine) and 20 reps of several weight exercises using 10 lbs. After using the unit again I breezed through the rest of my weight exercises without resting between sets. I used the unit again to finish up and was surprised when I never felt like having a nap later that afternoon. Usually exercising will make me tired later in the day. I am a 73 year old woman and find this just exhilarating.
